According to police, the case began after a complaint received on July 1, 2026. Jetti Kusuma Kumar, AICC Secretary, approached police over an alleged impersonation attempt.

The complaint alleged that an unknown person posed as Kanishka Singh. The person allegedly used mobile number +918081478396 to contact the complainant.
