Hyderabad, Sept. 16 (Maxim News): The Telangana government is set to provide financial assistance of Rs One lakh to eligible unemployed youth seeking self-employment.
The assistance will be provided under the Rajiv Yuva Vikasam scheme. The government had earlier invited online applications from eligible young men and women. Eligible beneficiaries have reportedly been identified and a final list has been prepared. The government has now decided to begin distributing the financial assistance from November 19.
Deputy Chief Minister Bhatti Vikramarka has directed officials to make arrangements for the distribution.
The scheme aims to support unemployed youth from eligible communities in starting self-employment activities. Beneficiaries can use the financial assistance to create livelihood opportunities in sectors of their choice.
Bhatti Vikramarka held a review meeting with officials of the SC and ST Welfare departments at Praja Bhavan.
Social Welfare Minister Adluri Laxman also attended the meeting.
Officials discussed the implementation of the Rajiv Yuva Vikasam scheme and the distribution of financial assistance to beneficiaries.
The Deputy Chief Minister directed officials to speed up the process and ensure that the funds reach eligible beneficiaries.
The meeting also reviewed employment opportunities for youth, implementation of welfare schemes and the functioning of residential educational institutions.
Bhatti Vikramarka directed officials to ensure that there is no shortage of funds for the development of the education sector.
According to the supplied information, unemployed youth belonging to SC, ST, BC and minority communities are eligible for the scheme. Funds for the programme have already been allocated in the state Budget.
Online applications were accepted from March 17 to April 14. Beneficiaries were selected after the application process. The financial assistance is expected to be provided from November and deposited directly into the bank accounts of eligible beneficiaries.
The Congress government introduced the scheme after coming to power with the stated objective of supporting employment and self-employment opportunities for youth. (Maxim News)
