PM Modi’s birthday | Varanasi, Hyderabad: PM Modi’s birthday celebrations are set to begin across the country on Thursday, September 17, with a major programme planned in Varanasi. Prime Minister Narendra Modi turns 76 on Thursday.
The Varanasi programme will bring together several senior BJP and NDA leaders. Defence Minister Rajnath Singh, Uttar Pradesh Chief Minister Yogi Adityanath and Andhra Pradesh Chief Minister N Chandrababu Naidu are among those expected to attend.
The celebrations in Varanasi are also linked to the BJP’s month-long Seva Sankalp Abhiyan. The campaign is scheduled to run from September 17 to October 17 and will include programmes focused on public service and outreach.
PM Modi’s Birthday Events Begin in Varanasi
A major highlight will be the ‘Janmbhoomi to Karmbhoomi’ Seva Yatra connecting Modi’s birthplace Vadnagar in Gujarat with Varanasi. Motorcycle rallies will travel between the two cities as part of the celebrations.
In Varanasi, 51 Seva Karyakartas are scheduled to begin a motorcycle journey towards Vadnagar. Organisers have also planned prayers at the Kashi Vishwanath temple and an exhibition highlighting Modi’s 25-year political journey.
The BJP’s Seva Sankalp Abhiyan will also include booth-level activities across the country. These include public-contact programmes, school activities and initiatives focused on service and welfare, according to party leaders.
The campaign will also feature an ‘Aashirwad Ka Diya’ programme. The BJP has appealed to people to light lamps at their homes on September 17 as part of the birthday observances.
The Varanasi programme has also prompted traffic restrictions in parts of the city because of the movement of senior leaders and other VIPs. Traffic police have announced diversions and restrictions on several routes during the event.
