Hyderabad, Sept. 20: A neurosurgeon died after his car hit a road divider and caught fire near Pillalamarri in Suryapet district on Sunday.
The victim was identified as Dr Kasakurthi Jagadish, a neurosurgeon associated with Mamata Hospital in Khammam. Police said he was trapped inside the vehicle after it caught fire.
The accident occurred on the Suryapet Khammam highway near Pillalamarri. The car reportedly lost control before hitting the divider. The vehicle was then engulfed in flames.
Police Investigate Suryapet Car Fire
Passersby alerted the police after seeing the burning vehicle. Police reached the spot and recovered the body from the completely gutted car.
Police registered a case and launched an investigation into the accident. A forensic team also collected and preserved the remains for examination.
Meanwhile, initial reports suggested that drowsy driving may have contributed to the accident. However, police have not established the exact cause of the crash.
