Hyderabad, Sept. 28 (Maxim News): BRS working president KT Rama Rao launched a sharp attack on Telangana Chief Minister A Revanth Reddy over alleged attempts to acquire private lands and the government’s handling of land disputes.
Addressing supporters at Telangana Bhavan, KTR questioned the actions of the police and government officials in connection with land-related issues. He alleged that police were supporting leaders involved in attempts to take over people’s lands.
KTR also criticised the practice of displaying photographs of political leaders at police stations. He said photographs should instead be associated with people who fulfil their promises and serve the public.
He alleged that the Congress government had made 420 promises but had failed to fulfil them. KTR accused Revanth Reddy of targeting the lands of poor people and farmers.
KTR Questions Government Over Land Acquisitions
KTR claimed that some farmers had been cultivating their lands for four generations. He alleged that the government was now attempting to take those lands from them.
He contrasted the situation with the previous BRS government, claiming that former chief minister K Chandrashekar Rao did not interfere with people’s lands during his 10-year tenure.
KTR also questioned why the government was allegedly focusing on the lands of ordinary people while overlooking properties linked to political leaders. He specifically mentioned Union minister Balram Naik and Congress leader Vivek Venkataswamy while questioning the government’s approach.
“Indiramma Rajyam” was also questioned by KTR in the context of land issues. He asked whether the government’s policy meant taking away land belonging to poor people.
The BRS leader further questioned the government over land connected to the airport and the proposed bullet train. He asked why alternative government-linked land could not be considered if land was required for infrastructure projects.
KTR alleged that land transactions and commissions had become a major focus of the Revanth Reddy government. He also alleged that the Chief Minister was more concerned about large commissions than the problems faced by poor landowners. These were political allegations made by KTR and were not independently established in his remarks.
The comments came amid an ongoing political dispute over land records involving former chief minister K Chandrashekar Rao. Revanth Reddy has directed officials to verify land records linked to KCR’s farmhouse and alleged that nearly 700 acres were not reflected in official records. The Chief Minister also said 388 acres claimed as government land should be recovered and distributed to eligible Dalit families.
KTR has rejected the allegations and separately challenged Revanth Reddy to agree to a judicial inquiry into the assets of both families. He has argued that the matter should be examined by a sitting judge rather than through government-appointed investigation teams.
KTR said the BRS would continue fighting the land-related issues for the next year. He added that the party would approach the Supreme Court if necessary and urged affected people to continue their legal and political struggle. (Maxim News)
