Medchal Fire | Hyderabad, Oct. 4: Two furniture shops were completely gutted in a fire near Medchal Checkpost on the outskirts of Hyderabad in the early hours of Sunday. The blaze reportedly caused property damage estimated at around ₹20 lakh.
The fire broke out at around 1:30 am in temporary furniture shops near National Highway 44. Flames spread rapidly through the shops, destroying the furniture, sofas and mattresses stored inside. The foam and other combustible materials are believed to have contributed to the rapid spread of the fire.
Local residents alerted the Fire Department after noticing the flames. Firefighters from Shamirpet and Jeedimetla reached the spot and brought the blaze under control.
Medchal Fire Case Under Investigation
The timely response of firefighters prevented the fire from spreading to a third shop nearby. No casualties were reported in the incident, according to available reports.
Preliminary estimates put the property loss at around ₹20 lakh. However, the final assessment of the damage remains subject to verification.
Local police inspected the scene and began an investigation to determine the cause of the fire. Officials have not yet confirmed what triggered the blaze.
