Nana Patekar Death | New Delhi, Oct. 8: Prime Minister Narendra Modi has expressed grief over the death of veteran actor Nana Patekar, who passed away in Goa at the age of 75.
Patekar died on Thursday after suffering a cardiac arrest at his residence in Dona Paula, Goa. Doctors attempted to revive him for around 45 minutes before he was declared dead.
In his condolence message, Modi remembered Patekar for his depth, distinctive presence, versatility and creativity. He also recalled the memorable characters the actor created during his career.
Few actors possessed the intensity, individuality and unmistakable presence that Shri Nana Patekar Ji had. He brought remarkable versatility and creativity to every role and gave us characters that will be remembered for generations. He was also admired for his frank and forthright views, never hesitating to express what he believed in.
Shri Nana Patekar’s contribution to Hindi and Marathi cinema was immense. His passing leaves a deep void. My condolences to his family, friends and countless admirers. Om Shanti.

Modi said Patekar was also known for his straightforward and outspoken views.

He noted the actor’s significant contribution to both Hindi and Marathi cinema.
The Prime Minister said Patekar’s death had created a major void in the film industry. He extended his condolences to the actor’s family, friends and numerous admirers.

Patekar had a career spanning nearly five decades and was known for powerful performances in Hindi and Marathi films. He received three National Film Awards and the Padma Shri for his contribution to Indian cinema.
Patekar’s son Malhar confirmed his death. The actor was declared dead at around 5:20 am after being taken to a hospital in Goa.
