Hyderabad, Oct. 11: The Congress high command has directed Telangana party leaders to participate in an anti-SIR protest scheduled in New Delhi on October 12.
The demonstration, planned under the INDIA bloc banner, will oppose the Special Intensive Revision (SIR) of electoral rolls and demand accountability from the Election Commission of India.
AICC general secretary (organisation) K.C. Venugopal instructed Telangana Congress leaders to attend the protest. The directive covers MPs, MLAs, MLCs, District Congress Committee presidents, TPCC office-bearers and senior party leaders.
Mahesh Kumar Goud Directs Leaders to Reach Delhi
Following Venugopal’s instructions, Telangana Pradesh Congress Committee president Bomma Mahesh Kumar Goud asked designated leaders to reach Delhi by the night of October 11 or the morning of October 12.

In a communication to party leaders, Mahesh Kumar Goud described attendance as compulsory. He urged them to treat the instruction as a priority.
The Congress plans to intensify its campaign against the SIR process and demand the resignation of Chief Election Commissioner Gyanesh Kumar.
The party has raised concerns about electoral roll revisions and called for safeguards to protect eligible voters’ rights. Telangana Congress leaders are expected to join national Congress and other INDIA bloc leaders at the Delhi demonstration.
