New Delhi, Oct. 12: The BJP on Monday accused the Congress of joining hands with anti India forces and attempting to create unrest in the country. The remarks followed Congress leader Rahul Gandhi’s press conference and his criticism of the Election Commission.
Union Minister Shivraj Singh Chouhan alleged that the Congress had become a puppet of forces seeking to create anarchy. He accused the party of attacking the judiciary after losing court cases, the Election Commission after electoral defeats and the armed forces following terror attacks.
Chouhan claimed the Congress was trying to create unrest after failing to return to power through elections. He also said the public understood the party’s intentions.
Using the Hindi proverb “Nachna Na Aaye, Angan Teda,” Chouhan accused the Congress of blaming institutions for its setbacks. He further claimed that the party had become a junior partner in most states, except for the three where it currently governs.
Assam BJP Plans Rallies Against Congress
Meanwhile, Assam Chief Minister Himanta Biswa Sarma announced peaceful rallies at district headquarters across the state from October 13 to 31.

Sarma said the BJP’s Assam unit would organise the rallies to counter what he described as attempts by Rahul Gandhi and the Congress to pressure constitutional institutions. He accused Gandhi of undermining democratic institutions through his criticism of the Election Commission of India.
In a post on X, Sarma also accused the Congress of taking inconsistent positions on election results. He alleged that the party accepted electoral outcomes when it won but questioned their credibility after defeats.
“When Assam votes, the result is unacceptable; when Kerala votes, it is welcomed,” Sarma said. He argued that the Congress accepted democracy only when election results favoured the party.
