According to the bus driver, Waqar Choudhary, the men demanded that the bus leave the parking area. They allegedly shouted, “Remove this terrorist vehicle from here.”
When the driver questioned them, the argument escalated. The men allegedly threw stones and bricks at the bus, breaking its windowpanes.

The driver also alleged that the attackers threatened to shoot passengers, burn the bus and kill those onboard. An elderly passenger suffered injuries from broken glass. The bus later resumed its journey towards Srinagar.
Haryana Police Say Dispute Started Over Parking
The incident drew attention after a video showing the damaged bus circulated on social media. Several people called for an investigation into whether hostility towards Kashmiris motivated the attack.
Jammu and Kashmir Chief Minister Omar Abdullah described the incident as unfortunate. He urged the Haryana government and police to take action against those responsible and ensure passenger safety.
Haryana Police identified the two accused as Mohit and Sawan, residents of Karnal district. Police said preliminary findings indicated that the confrontation began over parking and giving way.
Officials maintained that they had not found evidence establishing a religious or region-based hate crime. Police said the argument escalated before the men allegedly damaged the bus.

Police initially said no formal complaint had been filed by the bus passengers or driver. However, authorities registered a case following a complaint from the dhaba manager.
