CJP AAP Youth Wing Row Sparks Congress, BJP Attacks

CJP | New Delhi, Oct. 21: Congress and BJP leaders on Wednesday accused the Cockroach Janta Party (CJP) of acting as a proxy for the Aam Aadmi Party (AAP). The allegations followed a controversy over burning a cockroach effigy at a Delhi Ramlila event.

Both parties claimed that the controversy had given CJP publicity. They also alleged that the organisation was functioning as AAP’s youth wing.

The political exchange followed a complaint by AAP Delhi president Saurabh Bharadwaj. On Tuesday, he approached the Lieutenant Governor and Delhi Police Commissioner over the incident at a Ramlila event in Pitampura.

Bharadwaj sought an FIR against the organisers of the Shri Keshav Ramlila Committee. He also named Delhi minister and committee member Kapil Mishra, who attended the event as chief guest, along with other organisers.

Congress leader Udit Raj alleged that CJP had benefited from the controversy. He claimed that the organisation was acting as AAP’s proxy and had gained publicity from the incident.

Raj also alleged that several CJP leaders had emerged from AAP. However, he said many young people involved in the Jantar Mantar protest were not affiliated with any political party.

According to Raj, many protesters were affected by alleged examination paper leaks involving the Staff Selection Commission (SSC) and the National Eligibility-cum-Entrance Test (NEET).

Meanwhile, BJP national spokesperson R.P. Singh accused CJP of functioning as AAP’s youth wing. He also questioned Bharadwaj’s objection to the burning of the cockroach effigy.

The organisers of the Ramlila event maintained that the effigy was intended to raise awareness about filth and related health problems.

However, Bharadwaj argued that burning the cockroach effigy alongside traditional Ramlila effigies had hurt religious sentiments. The incident has since triggered a political exchange between the parties. (Maxim News)
