Hyderabad, Oct 24 (Maxim News): Tension prevailed in Hayathnagar of Rangareddy district on Saturday as revenue officials prepared to proceed with land acquisition for Indiramma Towers.
Officials planned to construct a wall near farmers’ lands in Survey No. 255/1. The preparations were reportedly led by Ibrahimpatnam Revenue Divisional Officer (RDO) Ibrahim.
A large police contingent was deployed in the area to prevent any disturbance during the proposed land acquisition process.
The dispute has resurfaced after previous attempts to acquire the land reportedly faced opposition from local farmers. On earlier occasions, farmers had sent back officials and police personnel who arrived at the site.
Farmers and Political Leaders Reportedly Placed Under House Arrest
According to local reports, around 20 affected farmers and some BRS and BJP leaders were placed under house arrest ahead of the proposed operation.
The police deployment appeared aimed at preventing another confrontation between the authorities and the affected landowners.
The dispute centres on land in Survey No. 255/1, where officials are preparing for acquisition linked to the Indiramma Towers project. However, the available information does not specify the total extent of land involved or the compensation offered to affected farmers.
The situation remained tense as officials prepared to carry out the process under police protection.
Further details about the acquisition schedule, the farmers’ objections and the administration’s response were awaited.
