Miyapur Land Dispute: Revanth Reddy Targets BRS

Hyderabad, Oct. 30: Telangana Chief Minister A. Revanth Reddy has accused the previous BRS government of attempting to transfer 550 acres of government land in Miyapur to private individuals. He claimed the Supreme Court had ruled in favour of the Telangana government in the land dispute and said the state would take possession of the property.

Speaking to the media in Delhi on Friday, Revanth Reddy alleged that the previous government had attempted to grab government properties worth thousands of crores. He accused former Chief Minister K. Chandrashekar Rao and his associates of being involved in efforts to take control of the Miyapur land.

Revanth Reddy added that the government could auction the property if necessary and use the proceeds for the welfare of poor people. He also said funds generated from the sale of Miyapur lands would support educational development.

Miyapur Land Dispute | Revanth Challenges BRS Leaders to Discuss Land Issues

The Chief Minister criticised BRS leaders for making allegations against the government over land encroachments. He challenged them to attend the Legislative Assembly and discuss the disputed properties.

He also questioned why KCR and senior BRS leader Harish Rao had not taken possession of certain properties, including Padmalaya Studio and Lanco lands, after coming to power despite earlier legal disputes.

Revanth Reddy alleged that Harish Rao’s uncle, Hanumantha Rao, was preventing officials from surveying land allegedly occupied by him and had obtained a court stay.

Cabinet Panel to Study Use of Land Sale Proceeds

The Chief Minister said a Cabinet sub-committee appointed for resource mobilisation would examine development projects that could be taken up using funds generated through land sales.

He also alleged that KCR had manipulated a dispute between two villages in his favour. Revanth Reddy said the government would resolve the encroachments and develop a Srikanth Acharya Martyrs’ Colony.

The Chief Minister urged KCR and KTR to stop alleged encroachments and cooperate with efforts to protect government properties. He maintained that the government would continue pursuing legal action to recover land.
