Hyderabad, Oct. 30: A 50-year-old auto-rickshaw driver was arrested for allegedly sexually assaulting his 15-year-old stepdaughter on five occasions over the past month in Balapur.

According to police, the accused had married the girl’s mother, who has a daughter studying in Class VI. He allegedly sexually assaulted the minor repeatedly by threatening her.
Police said the accused also threatened to kill the girl’s mother if she revealed the abuse to anyone.
Balapur Stepdaughter Assault Case Registered After Mother’s Complaint
The incident came to light recently after the victim’s mother approached the police and lodged a complaint. Based on the complaint, the Adibatla police registered a case under the Protection of Children from Sexual Offences (POCSO) Act.
The police arrested the accused on Friday and produced him before the court. He was subsequently remanded to judicial custody.
