New Delhi, Nov. 1: Union Labour and Employment Minister Mansukh Mandaviya on Sunday launched WhatsApp services for Employees’ Provident Fund Organisation (EPFO) subscribers.
The service will allow members to check their PF balance, latest five transactions and passbook information through WhatsApp.
Subscribers will also receive personalised guidance and assistance with requirements related to the Pradhan Mantri Viksit Bharat Rozgar Yojana (PMVBRY).
Mandaviya launched the service during the EPFO’s 74th Foundation Day celebrations. He said the initiative would make routine services accessible through a familiar mobile platform.
He added that the service would reduce the need for subscribers to visit EPFO offices.
EPFO WhatsApp Service | Automatically Settle Eligible Inoperative Accounts
Mandaviya also announced automatic settlement of eligible inoperative EPF accounts with balances up to Rs. 1,000.

The facility will cover accounts with Aadhaar-verified identities. EPFO will initiate settlements after completing prescribed identity and bank account verification.
Eligible dues will then be transferred to the rightful beneficiaries without requiring individual claims.
Approximately one lakh accounts involving nearly Rs. 5 crore are expected to benefit from this initiative.
Highlighting EPFO’s 74-year journey, Mandaviya described it as a trusted institution for India’s workforce.
He said the organisation had accumulated a corpus of Rs. 32 lakh crore through contributions from more than eight crore members.
He also credited EPFO employees for their dedication and commitment to the organisation.
