KTR North Telangana Tour: BRS Targets Congress

KTR North Telangana Tour | Hyderabad, Nov. 2: The Bharat Rashtra Samithi (BRS) has intensified its campaign against the Congress government over farmers’ distress in Telangana. Party working president KT Rama Rao has launched public meetings and field visits across North Telangana.

The campaign, titled “Rythu Garjana”, began in Adilabad on Sunday. It aims to highlight alleged failures of the Revanth Reddy government and its unfulfilled promises to farmers.

The BRS is also seeking to mobilise agricultural labourers and other sections affected by government policies. The party hopes to build pressure on the ruling Congress through direct public outreach.

During the tour, KTR is meeting families of farmers who died by suicide amid crop losses and mounting debts. The party is also providing financial assistance to bereaved families.

The BRS says the assistance aims to support families after losing their breadwinners. It is also accusing the Congress government of failing to stand by distressed farmers.

Adilabad has emerged as a key focus of the campaign. Chief Minister A Revanth Reddy had adopted the district.

The BRS has highlighted the deaths of six farmers by suicide in Adilabad during October. It has accused the Congress government of discontinuing the previous BRS regime’s Rythu Bima scheme.

The scheme provided financial assistance to the families of deceased farmers, the party said.

Apart from public meetings, KTR will hold separate discussions with senior district leaders and former public representatives. He will also interact with mandal-level coordinators.

The discussions will focus on the political situation, strengthening the party organisation and planning agitations over local issues.

Meanwhile, BRS Legislature Party deputy leader T Harish Rao has been conducting field visits to inspect withered paddy fields. He has also been expressing solidarity with farmers who suffered crop losses.

Over the past month, Harish Rao visited Siddipet, Gajwel, Mahabubabad, Warangal and Kumuram Bheem Asifabad districts.

He criticised the Congress government over irrigation water and power shortages. He also raised procurement delays and delayed Rythu Bharosa assistance.

The BRS alleges these issues have adversely affected local crop cycles.
