Kolkata, Nov. 7: Trinamool Congress (TMC) MP Abhishek Banerjee has alleged that BJP supporters attacked his residence in Kalighat, Kolkata, early Saturday. He claimed this was the seventh such incident in the past six months.
In a post on X, Banerjee alleged that a group of people pelted stones at his house around 2 am. He also accused them of attacking the building gates with bamboo sticks.
The alleged attack followed a clash between BJP and TMC supporters on Friday night. Police intervened and dispersed the groups to restore order.
Abhishek Banerjee Questions Bengal Law and Order
Banerjee shared two videos on X purportedly showing the incident. One video showed a man striking the building gates with bamboo sticks. Another showed a group throwing objects towards the building.
After two days of continuous recce, this is how BJP hooligans attacked my house at 2 AM today. Watch the footage and see for yourself.
If this is what can happen to an elected Member of Parliament, imagine the plight of the common man in WB.
This is the seventh attempt on my life in the last six months. Yet, there has been no police action and no judicial intervention.
Hooligans are running riot across the state because the judiciary continues to turn a blind eye.
Thank you, Milords, for remaining mute spectators! 🙏🏻

He questioned the police and judiciary over their response to repeated incidents. Banerjee also raised concerns about public safety in West Bengal.
“If this is the situation of an MP in Bengal, what is the situation of the common man?” he asked in his post.
He further alleged that law and order had deteriorated and that authorities had failed to protect citizens.
