Inter Students, Parents Continue Stir-Faulty Results

Hyderabad, April 22 (Maxim News): The agitation over the results of Intermediate Public Examinations (IPE), announced a few days back, has continued today also. A number of student organisations including ABVP, NSUI, students, parents and leaders from a host of political parties organised a protest in front of the offices of the Board of Intermediate (BIE) at Nampally here.

The student organisations demanded immediate dismissal of senior BIE officials who were directly involved in the declaration of wrong results. Student leaders demanded that re-evaluation of answer sheets of students must be done free of cost because the mistakes were committed by the Board authorities.

Several parents who also participated in the protests at the BIE office criticised the authorities for bungling-up of the results and risking the lives of students. More than ten students have already committed suicide after the results were announced. Who is going to take responsibility for the errors in BIE results, they questioned.

As large number of students and parents gathered at the Board office, police force was deployed in strength, and restrictions were imposed on gathering of people near the office. Police used force on the students and also obstructed the media from live coverage. Parents and students expressed anger over the attitude of the police. They flayed Minister Jagdish Reddy for washing-off his hands by saying that a committee has been appointed to go into the matter. (Maxim News)
