Hyderabad, Nov.27 (Maxim News): The High Court today heard the case on providing salaries to RTC employees, who went on strike for 52 days. The petitioner appealed to the court to direct the TSRTC management and the State government to offer two months salaries to the employees.
Representing the State government, Additional Advocate-General submitted to the court that the strike caused huge loss and the management was not able to pay salaries. The AAG suggested to the workers to move Labour Court for salaries. He also contended that the RTC management has powers to deny salaries for the absence of the workers.
He also stated that the management was entitled to stop paying eight days’ salary for one day absence. The petitioner informed that due to denial of salaries, the RTC employees’ families were starving. The petitioner also said that some of the employees were taking to extreme step due to job loss fear.
Hearing both sides, the court adjourned the case to next Wednesday. (Maxim News)
