Uttam Writes To PM To Intervene Into RTC Crew Issue

Hyderabad, Nov.28 (Maxim News): TPCC President N. Uttam Kumar Reddy today dashed off a letter to Prime Minister Narendra Modi and requested him to intervene into the TSRTC workers’ issue.

In the letter addressed to Narendra Modi, signed by two other MPs A Revanth Reddy and Komatireddy Venkat Reddy, the TPCC president told the Prime Minister that the State government was disallowing the workers to resume their duties even after the withdrawal of their strike. He also told the Prime Minister that the workers went on strike for 52 days on their demands, but the TRS government failed to fulfil even a single promise made to the workers.

Uttam Kumar Reddy alleged that the State government had neglected the corporation which had thousands of crores of rupees worth properties. He also told the Prime Minister that the Centre had 33% share in the erstwhile APSRTC. He told the Prime Minister that the number of RTC employees came down from 57,000 before the partition of the State to 49,000 after bifurcation of Andhra Pradesh.

He also complained that the State government was now contemplating to privatize the RTC and steps were afoot to privatize RTC bus routes as well. He requested the Prime Minister to intervene into the issue to protect the interests of the 49,000 employees of the corporation as it had 33% stake in it. (Maxim News)
