Congress Leaders Urge Guv To Ask Police To Perform Duties Impartially
Hyderabad, Dec.7 (Maxim News): The Congress leaders on Saturday addressed a letter to Governor Tamilisai Soundararajan and urged her to take steps for regulation of the free flow of liquor in belt shops, permit rooms and wine shops on the highways. They also requested the Governor to direct the Police department to discharge their duties in a free and fair manner as per law.
In the letter, written by CLP leader Mallu Bhatti Vikramarka, MP A. Revanth Reddy, MLA D. Sridhar Babu, former minister Mohammad Ali Shabbir and other leaders, told the Governor that the law and order situation was pathetic in the State as the Police department had failed to perform diligently. They cited the gang rape and murder of Diha in Hyderabad, Manasa in Warangal and T Laxmi in Asifabad district to support their claims. They also told the Governor that the crime rate had gone up in the State during the past six years. (Maxim News)
