Hyderabad: The notification for Telangana State Engineering, Agriculture and Medical Common Entrance Test (TS EAMCET) 2021 will be issued on March 18 with the entrance test to be conducted from July 5 to 9.
This time, the entrance test for AM stream will be held first i.e., on July 5 and 6 followed by Engineering from July 7 to 9. Both the entrance tests will be held in two sessions i.e., 9 am to 12 noon, and 3 pm to 6 pm.
The first test committee of the TS Eamcet, which met on Saturday, finalised a schedule and decided not to change the exam pattern and duration of the test i.e.,160 questions and 180 minutes.
However, according to TS Eamcet convener Prof A Govardhan, there is a 55 per cent weightage of the first year and 45 per cent weightage of the second year intermediate syllabus of Telangana State Board of Intermediate Education (TS BIE) for the entrance test.
This meant that, out of 160 questions, 55 per cent of questions will be from the intermediate first year and 45 per cent from the second-year intermediate syllabus. Earlier, 50 per cent weightage was equally given to the first and second intermediate syllabus in the entrance test.
The test will have 70 per cent syllabus of intermediate second-year and 100 per cent syllabus of intermediate first-year. The syllabus for TS Eamcet was reduced as the BIE had cut down the syllabus for both first and second-year courses by 30 per cent for the academic year 2020-21 due to the Covid-19 pandemic. Majority of the intermediate classes were held online.
