13 Cases of Zika Virus Reported in Kerala

Kerala: Tension escalated in Kerala after 13 people tested positive for Zika viral infection. According to the reports, samples of 19 people were tested at the National Institute of Virology in Pune and 12 out of them tested positive for the infection.

Kerala confirmed the mosquito-borne Zika virus for the first time.

Addressing the media, Kerala Health Minister Veena George stated that several Zika virus cases detected in the state.

Earlier, the first Zika cases reported among a 24-year-old pregnant woman. Fever, headache, body pains and rashes are the symptoms of the Zika virus.

Earlier, Ahmedabad and Tamil Nadu reported Zika cases in 2017.
