The State health department on Monday has urged people to take precautions from Covid-19 during the upcoming season of festivals.

While the daily Covid infections in Telangana have dropped considerably and are hovering between 150 and 200 positive cases, the upcoming months between October and December could prove to be crucial in ensuring there is no resurgence of fresh Covid infections, senior health officials said.

“Compliance to masks has gone down drastically among the public. Whether it is shopping, attending festivities in temples or taking part in the weekend fun day at Tank Bund, the fact is that adherence to Covid appropriate behaviour among the public has gone down considerably. We urge people to ensure they take precautions between October and December and do not allow SARS-CoV-2 to get another foothold in the community,” Director of Public Health (DPH) Dr G Srinivasa Rao on Monday said.
