Hyderabad, Dec. 19: Mild tension prevailed near Pragathi Bhavan on Saturday afternoon when five persons of a family doused themselves in fuel as they were frustrated over some land related disputes.
According to the police, the family hailing from Ibrahimpatnam in Ranga Reddy district came to the place and doused themselves with petrol. The police personnel who were on the duty immediately snatched away the bottle of fuel and poured water on them before taking away a matchbox the man was carrying. The police shifted them to the Panjagutta police station.
Enquiries revealed that the family was having some land related disputes with some persons and came to the Pragathi Bhavan to meet the officials. The Punjagutta police have contacted the Ibrahimpatnam police and sought more details.
