Release BJP Chief Sanjay, HC slams police on details
Hyderabad, Jan.5 (Maxim News): The High Court today directed the state government and police to release BJP state chief and MP Bandi Sanjay as it cited that his arrest was against norms. The court expressed surprise that Sanjay was arrested at 10.50 pm and an FIR filed at 11.15 pm. While staying the 14 days of judicial remand to Sanjay, the court directed that the BJP chief must be released from jail immediately and posted the case to February 7. The court opposed 14 days judicial remand for Covid-19 violations. The court also issued notices to the government for details.
The court has expressed serious displeasure at the way of arrest of BJP state Chief Bandi Sanjay and an FIR in just 15 minutes. The court found fault with the police officials for inclusion of 333 section and failing to give related details. The court questioned medical reports, if the police were really wounded in the melee. The court sought related medical reports of injuries to the police persons after jostling with the BJP leaders in the protest.
The court hit out at the police officials for managing to file an FIR in just 15 minutes. The court expressed discontent and dismay that the police arrested the BJP chief with false charges. Directing the police to give all details related to the arrest and Corona violations made by the MP the court slammed the Government for the same.
The police arrested Sanjay and other BJP local leaders and activities for the protest against 317 GO which violated Corona protocols. Tension prevailed during the arrest of Sanjay as the police filed cases on him with six others in Karim Nagar. The local court remanded Sanjay and some others to 14 days of judicial remand. The police in its report said that they filed cases against the 16 BJP activists and said that 11 absconded. Huzurabad SI Srinivas said that he and other 11 policemen on duty were injured in the melee while arresting the BJP leaders. (Maxim News)
