Police arrest MLA’s son in connection with suicide case

Hyderabad, Jan.6 (Maxim News): The State police today arrested the Vanama Raghavendra Rao , who is the son of the ruling TRS party MLA from Kothagudem Assembly constituency Vanama Venkateshwar Rao , in connection with a suicide case of four members of the same family.

A team of Kothagudem police arrested Raghava in the city. The arrest took loads after a video shot by Victim Ramakrishna, who committed the suicide along with his three family members including two children by self immolation, went viral on social media.

In the video, the victim levelled allegations against Raghavendra Rao . Following the suicide incident, the MLA Venkateswar rao wrote an open letter to his constituency people and said that he was shocked at the suicide incident . He made it clear that he would extend complete cooperation to the police in the investigation of the case. He also said that he was ready to handover his son to police for his interrogation . The police arrested the accused son of the MLA hours after the release of the letter.

The police took Raghava to Kothagudem . The Paloncha police registered a case against Raghava under sections 302, 306 and 307 of IPC. A total of six cases have been filed against Raghava so far by paloncha police and two more cases have been filed against him by paloncha rural police. Some of the allegations faced by Raghava are damaged of government properties, violation of Covid rules and provoking some people to commit suicide . (Maxim News)
