KCR is anti-national, a traitor: Revanth

Hyderabad: Telangana Pradesh Congress Committee (TPCC) President & MP A. Revanth Reddy on Thursday demanded that Chief Minister K. Chandrashekhar Rao be declared an anti-national and a traitor because he dared to call for a new Constitution and tried to malign the godly image of Bharat Ratna Dr. BR Ambedkar.

“There is no denying the fact that the Constitution of India, which was impeccably drafted by the visionary extraordinaire and apostle of equality, Dr. B. R. Ambedkar, ranks amongst the country’s most sacred of books. Dr. Ambedkar is more than just a Dalit icon given the footprints he has left behind across spheres. Although a proponent of modernity, the great man crusaded against social discrimination, economic alienation and political isolation so that India could stand out as an exemplary Republic, where there was no class discrimination but all-round equality. If that is the extraordinary reverence he commands and one who is considered as a ‘messiah’ by millions of Indians, then here we have a politician who is making a mockery of such an illustrious luminary,” Revanth Reddy said in a media statement today.

Revanth Reddy said CM KCR, who behaves like a dictatorial ‘dora’, has taken the Indian political system to an all-time low with his shameful remarks on the Indian Constitution and Dr. Ambedkar. “KCR calling for a new Constitution is nothing short of a Tughlaq thought, something which comes naturally to the most corrupt Chief Minister in Indian history. It is nothing short of a cardinal sin that he has committed by seeking a new Constitution to ensure the nation’s progress. As someone who hoodwinks people every other second while looting the exchequer, KCR has no right to contend that the Constitution was misused by successive Union governments. Whom is he trying to fool this time?” he asked.

The TPCC Chief said that the Congress party has been reiterating that KCR was only enacting the script written by BJP bosses, whom he pleases at every turn. He said KCR has only tried to play to the galleries by mentioning that the NDA Government was making amendments to implement their hidden agenda. The whole world knows that he is merely running a BJP government in Telangana by dancing to the tunes of Narendra Modi and Amit Shah and their likes, he said.

“The fact is that his calling for a new Constitution is in tune with BJP’s selfish anti-weaker sections agenda. Neither the BJP nor KCR have done anything for the opposed classes, who continue to stay poor. If one goes by KCR’s track-record as a politician, especially since becoming the Chief Minister, what becomes clear is his hatred for Dalits. Today, he has even tried to project the Father of Indian Constitution as a villain, which is highly condemnable. It is a disgrace that he never attended the birth anniversary of Dr. Ambedkar even once in the last seven years,” he said.

Revanth Reddy said that KCR has never been a friend of Dalits and has always ignored them and their welfare. To him, they are just a vote-bank that needs to be cultivated to serve his greed for power. His much-trumpeted Dalit Bandhu scheme is also meant to cheat the people of the State. It is not for any love for Dalits but his way of buying their votes. People are not fools as they have seen his true colours, he said.

The TPCC Chief alleged that CM KCR even uses police forces to suit his interests. Even there he has been promoting bias and divisive politics and patronizing his ‘yes-men’. KCR is against the proposed amendments to the All India Services (Cadre) Rules, 1954. His utterances are part of the BJP-KCR deal, he said.

“One should note that many upright IAS and IPS officers from Telangana have openly resented the interference by State Government authorities. They have taken voluntary retirement from service because they could no longer stand the KCR diktat,” he said.

Revanth Reddy said that the Congress leaders and workers held a protest against KCR across Telangana State on Thursday. A deeksha was also held at party headquarters Gandhi Bhavan. He said that the Congress would continue its protest until KCR withdrew his remarks and tender an unconditional apology. (Maxim News)
