Hyderabad, May 27: Officials of the Anti-Corruption Bureau conducted surprise inspections at multiple Regional Transport Office (RTO) locations across Hyderabad on Tuesday following allegations of corruption.
Searches were carried out simultaneously at RTO offices in Medchal, Nagole and Kondapur.
Officials Examine Pending Files And Registrations
According to reports, teams comprising nearly eight officers each inspected records related to pending files, vehicle registrations and issuance of driving licences.
Investigators are also examining the role of RTA agents and driving school operators as part of the ongoing inquiry.
Officials suspect that some driving licence and registration processes were allegedly being carried out illegally through middlemen and agents.
The raids were reportedly initiated after complaints of corruption against certain staff members working in the transport offices.
Further investigation is underway and officials are expected to review documents and transaction records collected during the inspections.
