Suspension of BJP MLAs undemocratic and unconstitutional: Gudur

Hyderabad, March 8: BJP senior leader Gudur Narayana Reddy on Tuesday strongly condemned suspension of BJP MLAs from the activities of State Assembly till end of the present session.

In a media statement he said that the suspension was undemocratic, unconstitutional and dictatorial. He said that March 7, 2022 (Monday) would be considered as a black day in the history of the state.

He said that three MLAs of BJP have been suspended from the business of the House till end of the session on Monday. “The only crime being committed by the BJP MLAs was that they have opposed repeated criticism of Central Government by Finance Minister T Harish Rao,” he said.

Expressing his utter surprise over the suspension, Narayana Reddy wanted to know whether it was a crime to express resentment in the House. He made it clear that there was no provision in the Constitution of India which bans expression of resentment in the legislative houses.

He said that if the MLAs were not allowed to speak how the state government would protect the fundamental right of the people – freedom of speech. He said that an unannounced suppression of fundamental rights has been taking place in the state.

Narayana Reddy said that the BJP MLAs were suspended because the Chief Minister does not want to see the face BJP MLA Eetala Rajendar in the Assembly and it demonstrates the CM’s tyrannical and arrogant behaviour. “The Chief Minister is afraid of Rajendar as he would effectively expose the failures of the state government in the Assembly,” he said.

He said that entire BJP would stand with the three MLAs of the party and it would take up agitation all over the state in their support. He said that BJP has called upon the people to observe ‘Rajyanga Rakshana Deeksha’ on March 9 (Wednesday) all over the state.

He called upon the party workers and leaders to participate in the programme in big numbers and demonstrate the strength of BJP. He said that BJP would fight for protection of democracy in the state. (Maxim News)
