YS Sharmila to contest from Paleru constituency

Khammam, June 15: A huge meeting will be held in Nelakondapalli on June 19 since YSR Telangana Party (YSRTP) chief YS Sharmila is going to contest from Paleru constituency of Khammam district. Party Khammam district president Lakkineni Sudheer Babu and constituency in-charge B Srinivasa Reddy informed this.

Congress has a strong hold on Paleru since the beginning and Reddy community has the upper hand. Congress candidate Kandala Upender Reddy won in the last Assembly elections.

According to party sources, Sharmila decided to contest from this constituency due to high percentage of Girijan voters; Reddy community leaders control the local politics; as it was a strong fort during the reign of her father late YS Rajashekhara Reddy as CM; and as there is no strong leader in Congress after the demise of Ramreddy Venkat Reddy. Besides, that party also considering that the internal bickering of TRS also benefits them.
