Solve Ukraine Returned Medicine Students Issues Immediately: Gudur

Hyderabad, July 31 (Maxim News): BJP Senior Leader Gudur Narayana Reddy on Sunday demanded Chief Minister to address the issues of medical students who returned from Ukraine immediately.

In a media statement, he said that though the Chief Minister has promised that the state government would fund the studies of Ukraine returned students, so far no action has been taken.

He said that about 700 students who have been pursuing medicine in Ukraine have come back to the state due to the ongoing war between Russia and Ukraine. They returned in March this year. The war has begun between Russia and Ukraine on February 24, this year.

He said that Government of India has brought them back safely from war torn Ukraine with great difficulty. Prime Minister Narendra Modi has taken personal interest in bringing them back to the country.

Narayana Reddy reminded that in March Chief Minister K Chandrashekar Rao has announced in the Assembly that the state government would take care of the studies of the Ukraine returned medicine students. “The CM said that government would fund the studies,” he said.

However, so far no action has been taken in this direction. The Chief Minister even did not hold a meeting with the concerned officials on the future of the Ukraine returned medicine students.

Quoting the statement of the CM in Assembly, Narayana Reddy said, “(The CM said) To study MBBS in India, it was costing them over Rs 1 crore and since they could not afford this they went to Ukraine where they had to pay Rs 20-25 lakh.”

He said that the beleaguered students have been waiting for a decision from the state government on their future for the past 5 months.
