Modi failed to meet aspirations of people: TRS

Hyderabad, Oct.17 (NSS): Lashing out at the BJP government at the Centre for failing to fulfill the aspirations of people in the country, former Minister and MLC Kadiyam Srihari said that no section in the country was happy under the tenure of Prime Minister Narendra Modi.

Speaking at a press conference here on Monday, Srihari along with MP Lingaiah Yadav, Government Whip MS Prabhakar Rao, MLC VG Gangadhar Goud, and MLC Yegge Mallesham said that Narendra Modi had successfully completed eight years in office but couldn’t develop a single sector in the country.

Kadiyam also criticized the Prime Minister for failing to take effective measures to boost the economy, saying that the Rupee has plunged to an all-time low of 82 against the US dollar.

When Modi assumed the charge of the Prime Minister in 2014, the Indian rupee against the US dollar was 58 and now, it stands at 82. Similarly, the country’s growth rate was seven percent in 2014, now it is slipped to below five percent. In Global Hunger Index, India’s rank was 55 in 2014 and it has slipped to 107 ranks out of 121 countries. With the poor economic policies, the middle and low-income groups are leading vulnerable life and the prices of all essentials are sky-rocketed, he pointed out.

Coming down heavily on the State BJP leaders for failing to fight for the interests of Telangana, Kadiyam Srihari said Union Minister Kishan Reddy and BJP State unit president Bandi Sanjay were maintaining silence despite the fact that the Union government was doing a lot of injustice to the State.

MP Lingaiah Yadav said that Chief Minister K Chandrasekhar Rao was giving importance to the people of backward classes and was initiating various schemes for the development of these communities.

He said former MP Bura Narsaiah Goud, who has quit the TRS recently and is set to join the BJP, has been recognized because of KCR who gave him a chance to contest as an MP in the 2014 and 2018 elections. (NSS)
