HC Grants Permission To Bandi Sanjay Yatra And Public Meeting With Condition

Hyderabad, Nov 28 (maxim News): The High court of Telangana today granted permission to Bandi Sanjay’s Praja Sangrama yatra and public meeting in Bhainsa, but under certain conditions. The meeting was put on hold after the police denied permission, citing the communal sensitivity in the area, following which the BJP moved the court.

Justice B.Vijaysen Reddy, bearing the petition filed by BJP’s leader G.Premender Reddy, granted permission to the yeatra and meeting based on a number of conditions. This includes that the meeting should be held from 3 pm to 5 pm, at a venue three kilometres away from Bhainsa town, that there should be no provocative speeches and with the number of people attending the meeting to be restricted to 3,000. The Yatra was allowed on the condition that not more than 500 persons could participate and none of those participating should carry sticks or similar items. If the meeting could not be held under any circumstances today, it could be held tomorrow. The police could take action if any of the conditions were violated and the Premender Reddy will be held responsible if there was any loss of life or property.

It may be recalled that the BJP has approached the High Court against the denial of permission to the party State Chief Bandi Sanjay’s fifth phase of Praja Sangrame yatra and public meeting in Bhainsa town. The High court took up the hearing this afternoon. Police took Bandi Sanjay into custody on Sunday night while he was on his way to Nirmal to kick off the fifth phase of his Praja Sangrama yatra from Bhainsa town on Monday morning after holding a public meeting. Bandi Sanjay told the media in Karimnagar that he would take decision on the padayatra and public meeting after the court hearing. However, he announced that whether the Court gives permission or not, the party would go ahead with the padayatra. (Maxim News)
