Heavy Ganja Trade in Nizamabad, Open Market Without Control

Nizamabad/Hyderabad, Jan 8 (Maxim News): Heavy ganja trade is going on in the erstwhile Nizamabad district. Marijuana cigarettes and liquid marijuana are being sold without control. Cannabis (the most commonly used illicit drug) is freely available in everything from small shops to wholesale shops on the roads.

There are allegations that the concerned departments are not controlling even though they are being sold freely in the open market. Along with Maharashtra, cannabis is widely spread in Adilabad, Medak, and Nanded districts. It seems that transportation is going on in the district throughJukkal and Bodhan areas. Police seized a large amount of cannabis in the Balkonda constituency represented by the BRS Minister recently. The car hit a parked lorry and caught fire, killing two people. The lorry which caused the accident contained prohibited drugs. In 11 months in Bodhan Town. Police have seized prohibited drugs worth Rs. 15 lakhs, of which Rs. 5 lakhs worth was Ganja cigarettes, Ganja cigarettes worth lakhs of rupees were found.

Young people are getting addicted to cigarettes that contain less tobacco and more marijuana. It seems that cannabis cigarettes are manufactured locally. engineering and degree students are getting sick by drinking liquid ganja and cigarettes. It seems that cannabis cigarettes are also being sold at normal cigarette prices in some areas. Hashish Oil has been seized on a large scale by the district police and excise officers. Marijuana consumption can lead to life-threatening diseases like lung cancer. Reports reveal that youth are dying due to the use of prohibited ganja and intoxicants in the erstwhile district.

The surveillance department on the sale of drugs in the district is not functioning because of allegations that there is a lack of coordination between the Excise and Police departments. Locals say that due to negligence in the checks of Salabatpur, Sakura, and Kandakurthi checkposts on the Maharashtra border, ganja smuggling is going on freely.

Minister for Roads and Buildings, Vemula Prashant Reddy has ordered the authorities to clamp down on the transportation of narcotics within 3 days. A review was conducted with officers of the Excise and Police department. He ordered strict action not to spare anyone caught with ganja. However, the opposition parties and student unions are alleging that the ganja racket is going on freely in the Balkonda segment of the Minister’s constituency. (Maxim News)
