On the occasion of World Heritage Day, the Heritage Walk started from Darul Shifa today under the auspices of GHMC via Salar Jung Museum and ended at Osmania Hospital, Zonal Commissioners, HoDs and others participated in the Heritage Walk along with commissioner Ronald Rose. 

The GHMC Commissioner said that special efforts are being made to protect the important heritage structure in the city of Hyderabad, he said already renovation and beautification of MJ market, Maula Ali common and Clock tower have been completed at a cost of Rs. 18.33 crore for renovation and beautification of the 3 ancient building.

Actions will be taken to complete various unfinished works under Charminar Pedestrian.  The Commissioner said that six arches around Charminar have been proposed for reconstruction and restoration works.  He said that all necessary steps will be taken to complete the work of Murgi Chowk  and Sardar Mahal.  

In the heritage walk, it has been focused on the development of the city after the major flood of 1908 and inspired by the development of the city.  To old municipal building as well as the Salar Jung Museum were seen through photographs of the past and the present.

The Commissioner said that the six kamans which will be reconstructed and renovated are Rani Gunj Kaman, Sheikh Faiz Kaman, Chatta Bazar kaman, Dewan Devadi kaman, Dabirpura Kaman and  Hussaini Alam Kaman. 

Zonal commissioners Ravi Kiran, Sneha Sabarish, Abhilash Abhinav, Pankaja, Venkanna, Additional Commissioner K.Srivatsav, Chandrakant Reddy, Chief Medical Officer, Chief Veterinary Officer, Chief entomology Officer Dr. Padmaja, Dr. Abdul Wakil, Dr. Rambabu and others participated in this walk.  (Maxim News)
