Aadhaar Update Charges Has Now Increased

Internet Desk/Hyderabad, Oct 8 (Maxim News): Aadhaar is the identity card of 1.3 billion citizens in India. However, if you want to make any mistakes or corrections in this card, you have to go to the said centers and pay some fees. However, recently the respective update charges have been increased slightly.

According to a recently released office memorandum by the Unique Identification Authority of India (UIDAI), the new rates will be applicable from October 1, 2025 to September 30, 2028. These are for services provided by registrars or service providers. This will also include GST.

There have been some changes in fees compared to the current charges, but biometric updates for children remain free.

Demographic updates (Name, Address, Date of Birth, Gender, PoA/PoI documents): Rs. 75 for one or more fields (online mode or at Aadhaar Enrolment Centre). Will increase to Rs. 90 between 2028-31.

Biometric updates (fingerprint, iris, photo; including demographic): Rs. 125. Will be Rs. 150 between 2028-31.

Mandatory biometric update is free for children aged 5 to 7 and 15 to 17.

Aadhaar Search, eKYC (with colour printout on A4 sheet): Rs. 40 (2025-28); Rs. 50 (2028-31).

Aadhaar Generation: Free for children aged 0 to 5 years and above.

For a complete update (demographic + biometric), the usual fee is Rs. 125. This is because demographic is included in the biometric fee. Home Enrollment Service If you want to update at home for elderly or sick people, you have to pay Rs. 700 (including GST) in addition to the regular fee.

If there are multiple people at the same address, Rs. 700 for the first person and Rs. 350 for each of the others.

Aadhaar update can be done online through Aadhaar portal (self-service update portal). Or it can be done at the nearest Aadhaar Enrolment Center using ECMP/UC/CELC. (Documents should be kept ready). According to UIDAI, updating Aadhaar is required for various government services.
