Hyderabad: The Aashrai Gudlavalleti Memorial Award will be presented by the PRASHO Foundation in association with the Gudlavalleti family at a special ceremony in Hyderabad on March 12, 2026. The event will take place at 6:30 PM at Kapil Kavuri Hub at the World Trade Centre in Gachibowli.
The award has been instituted in memory of Dr Aashrai Sai Venkat Gudlavalleti, a distinguished consultant neurologist in the United States. It aims to honour his legacy and recognise his commitment to advancing neurological research. The initiative also reflects his dedication to improving the lives of elderly patients through medical care and scientific progress.
Aashrai Gudlavalleti Memorial Award Recognises Neurological Research
The PRASHO Foundation established the Aashrai Gudlavalleti Memorial Award to recognise outstanding contributions by Indian scientists working in neurological sciences. The award is presented annually and aims to encourage innovation and excellence in the field of neuroscience research.
According to the organisers, the award includes a cash prize of ₹5,00,000 and a citation. The honour is designed to acknowledge both research achievements and clinical contributions that help improve neurological care.
Meanwhile, the recipient of the 2026 award is Dr Lokesh Saini. He serves as Associate Professor in the Department of Paediatrics in Pediatric Neurology at the All India Institute of Medical Sciences in Jodhpur. He also works as Assistant Dean Research and Clinician in Charge of the Pediatric Neurology Fellowship Programme at the institute.
Dr Lokesh Saini to Deliver Award Oration
Dr Lokesh Saini is being honoured for his contributions to research and clinical care in pediatric neurology. As part of the ceremony, he will deliver the award oration. During the address, he will share insights from his work and experiences in advancing neurological research and treatment in India.
