Accreditation Cards Applications Invited for 2026–28 from February 9 

Hyderabad, Feb. 6 (Maxim News): The Department of Information and Public Relations has invited online applications for the issue of Accreditation Cards for the 2026–28 period. The submission of application for the renewal and fresh Accreditation Cards will commence from February 9.

The process follows the inauguration of the official I&PR department website and the accreditation module by the Minister for Information and Public Relations on February 2, 2026. The department has clarified that the validity of existing Accreditation Cards will expire on February 28, 2026.

Therefore, new cards will be issued to all eligible working journalists for the 2026–28 term. The move is aimed at ensuring uninterrupted accreditation for journalists who meet the eligibility criteria. According to the notification, media management plays a key role in the application process.

For State Level Accreditation Cards, media organisations must submit the list of journalists’ names to the Commissioner, Information and Public Relations, Hyderabad.

Meanwhile, for District Level Accreditation Cards, the names should be forwarded to the respective District Public Relations Officers.

Once the media managements forward the names, the concerned journalists must submit their applications online through the official I&PR department website at http://ipr.telangana.gov.in

The department has made it clear that only online applications will be accepted for both state and district level accreditation. Meanwhile, the timeline for submissions has also been announced. The date for submitting online applications at both the state and district levels is February 9, 2026.

The department stated that the issuance of fresh Accreditation Cards is necessary as the current cards will lapse at the end of February. The initiative also marks a step towards digitising and streamlining the accreditation process through the newly launched online module.
