Actress Dimple Hayathi, Husband Booked For Harassing, Assaulting Housemaid
Hyderabad, October 01: Police have registered a case against film actress Dimple Hayathi and her husband, David, after a housemaid lodged a complaint alleging harassment, assault, and abuse.
According to police, Priyanka Bibar, 22, a native of Rayagada district in Odisha, came to Hyderabad on September 22, seeking employment through Sri Sai Goodwill Service. On the same day, she was appointed as a maid at the residence of actress Dimple Hayathi at Vamsiram’s Westwood Apartment, Shaikpet.
In her complaint, Priyanka alleged that since she started working, Dimple Hayathi and her husband David had been humiliating and ill-treating her. She stated that they often denied her proper food and scolded her using abusive language. They allegedly insulted her, saying, “Your life is not even equal to my shoes.”
The complainant stated that on the morning of September 29, a dispute arose when their pet dog barked. Priyanka alleged that Dimple and David hurled filthy abuses at her and even threatened to kill her parents.
When she attempted to record the incident on her phone, David allegedly snatched it, smashed it on the ground, and tried to assault her. She claimed that in the scuffle, her clothes were torn, after which she managed to escape and later approached the police with her agent’s help.
Based on her complaint, Filmnagar Police have registered a case against Dimple Hayathi and David under Sections 74, 79, 351(2), and 324(2) of the Bharatiya Nyaya Sanhita (BNS).
