Adilabad: 177 Booked For Not Wearing Mask

Adilabad: Adilabad police cracked a whip against violators of norms of Covid-19 lockdown by registering cases against 177 persons for failing to wear face masks, 52 persons for not adhering to the guidelines and 590 individuals for unnecessarily moving on roads on Friday.

In-charge Superintendent of Police M Rajesh Chandra said that a special drive was being carried out for enforcing the norms of the lockdown. He stated that inspections were held at important junctions of the town. He informed that cases were booked against violators of the rules. He cautioned that the miscreants would be shifted to isolation centres.

The IPS officer further stated that people of the district were voluntarily practicing self-lockdown and were extending cooperation to policemen. He complimented sanitation workers, revenue officials and press personnel for discharging duties risking their health. He stated that police were striving hard to strictly implement lockdown and to break the chain of the virus.

Officer on Special Duty Harshavardhan Srivatsav, Additional SPs Srinivas Rao and Vinod Kumar, DSPs Venkateshwar Rao and Umamaheshwar Rao, inspectors and sub-inspectors were present.
