The raid led to the seizure of 4 tonnes, or 4,032 kg, of ginger garlic paste. In addition, officials recovered over 6,200 kg of low quality raw materials and other items. The total value of the seized goods is about Rs 22 lakh. Meanwhile, the action was carried out by teams from the Task Force Khairatabad along with the H Fast team.

Officials said the adulterated ginger paste was prepared in unhygienic conditions. They found that workers used inferior raw materials, including garlic peels. They also used chemical additives such as acetic acid and xanthan gum. Therefore, the products raised serious food safety concerns.

Moreover, officials found that the paste was stored in open containers. It remained exposed to dust and flies. It was then packed without proper food safety certification. Police officials said the adulterated paste was supplied to wholesale kirana stores, restaurants, and catering services across the city.

The seized material and the accused are now under the custody of Mailardevpally police. Authorities have started further investigation into the supply chain and distribution network of the adulterated products.
