In a LinkedIn post confirming her appointment, she said she was “grateful for the opportunity to keep serving and making a difference”.

She brings over 25 years of experience in technology leadership. Over the years, she has played a key role in advancing the department’s modernisation agenda. Kuppa joined the Labour Department in 2010. Since then, she has held several senior roles, including Chief Technology Officer and Director of Business Application Services. Earlier, she spent more than a decade with the Bureau of Labor Statistics, gaining deep experience in data and analytics.

She studied at SNDT Women’s University and traces her roots to India. Meanwhile, her appointment reflects the growing presence of Indian-origin professionals in key technology leadership roles within the US government.

Her elevation comes at a time when federal agencies are accelerating the use of artificial intelligence and digital tools. These efforts aim to improve public service delivery and workforce outcomes. Therefore, her leadership is expected to play a crucial role in shaping future technology initiatives within the department.
