Hyderabad, Sept. 21: AIMIM chief Asaduddin Owaisi said on Monday that his party will decide on a possible alliance for the 2027 Uttar Pradesh Assembly elections by October 2.
Owaisi said AIMIM was in talks with other parties but did not name the parties involved.
He said the party was open to working with like minded political groups ahead of the elections.
Owaisi also said AIMIM was preparing to contest the elections independently while discussions on a possible alliance continued.
He said the party wanted to strengthen political representation for Muslims in the Uttar Pradesh Assembly.
AIMIM Steps Up UP Election Preparations
Owaisi expressed confidence that AIMIM candidates would enter the Uttar Pradesh Assembly after the 2027 elections.
He said the Muslim community should have greater political representation and leadership from within the community.
“We hope that this time, God willing, our candidates will win and enter the Uttar Pradesh Legislative Assembly,” Owaisi said.
He also argued that a community with a large population should have a stronger political voice in the state.
Owaisi’s remarks came during his ongoing political outreach in Uttar Pradesh ahead of the 2027 Assembly elections.
AIMIM began its election preparations in the state earlier this year and has kept the possibility of alliances open.
The party has been expanding its organisational activities and public outreach across several parts of Uttar Pradesh.
Owaisi said AIMIM would announce its alliance decision by October 2.
