Hyderabad, Oct. 8: Air India and Air India Express have cancelled flights to and from Riyadh until October 10 amid security disruptions at the airport.
Saudi Arabia’s airports in Riyadh and Abha reportedly came under attack by Houthi militants. As a result, Air India and Air India Express flights heading to Riyadh returned to their departure cities on Thursday.
Air India Express said it cancelled all Riyadh services until October 10 due to the evolving regional situation. Affected passengers can reschedule their flights at no extra cost or seek a full refund.
Air India, Akasa Also Suspend Riyadh Services
Air India Express operates 16 weekly Riyadh flights from Bengaluru, Kochi, Kannur and Kozhikode. Air India operates seven weekly services from Delhi and Mumbai.

Air India also cancelled its Riyadh flights until October 10. The airline said affected passengers would receive full refunds.
Air India flight AI2243 from Delhi to Riyadh returned to the national capital on Thursday and was later cancelled. Passengers were offered full refunds.
Meanwhile, Akasa Air cancelled its Kochi to Riyadh and Riyadh to Kochi services on Thursday. The airline said it was monitoring the security situation in real time.
The cancellations come amid reported escalation between Saudi Arabia and the Iran backed Houthi group. Recent attacks have involved armed drones and missiles.
