KTR welcomed them into the party by draping BRS scarves over their shoulders.

On this occasion, both leaders said they were joining the BRS to work under the leadership of former Chief Minister K. Chandrashekar Rao (KCR). KTR expressed confidence that their induction would further strengthen the party.

Speaking to the media, Ali Masqati, linked his move to what he called “injustice” to minorities under the Congress government in Telangana.

He said the government failed on inclusion and welfare for Muslim minorities. He argued that this concern guided his decision to return to the BRS.

“injustice meted by the Revanth Reddy led Congress government to Minorities,” he said, keeping his charge focused on representation and delivery.

He stated that Chief Minister Revanth Reddy is about to complete two years in office and that “no Muslim minority has been made the Minister in his cabinet.” He framed this as a sign of exclusion from power.

Masqati also cited the handling of legislative nominations. Amer Ali Khan, the only Muslim MLC, was “deceived” in the Congress, according to the allegation, the same treatment could be repeated with Mohammed Azharuddin in the coming days, and till now there is no chairman of the Telangana Pradesh Congress Committee (TPCC) Minority Wing.

He argues this signals a broader pattern of sidelining Muslim representation within the party.

Residents of Jubilee Hills demanded land for a graveyard. However, the Congress government “cheated” them by announcing a litigated parcel, instead of a clear site.

The Waqf Board chairman had already visited and inspected an alternative location and forwarded that proposal to the government. Despite this, the Revanth Reddy government announced one site under an Army-related litigation and another plot pending before the High Court.

He further claimed that “No Minorities welfare schemes are implemented in the state.” He did not list specific schemes. However, he tied this assertion to a broader claim that the Congress government has not delivered for minorities as claimed in the “Minorities Declaration“. He said these cumulative issues informed his political choice. (Maxim News)
