All set for Bathukamma sarees distribution: Mayor

Hyderabad, Sept.21 (NSS): GHMC Mayor Gadwal Vijayalaxmi today said all arrangements were made for distribution of sarees to women on the occasion of the upcoming Bathukamma festival. She said they would distribute the saris in all the 30 municipal circles of the GHMC and Secunderabad Cantonment Board area.

The Mayor said they distributed 15,85,405 saris to the women last year. The authorities of the State government have decided to distribute the saris in different colours. They designed the saris in 240 varieties with the weavers of Siricilla, Pochampally and Gadwal areas. The local MLAs, MPs, MLCs and Corporators from 150 Divisions of the corporation would launch the distribution of the saris. The Corporation has 1331 fair price shops spread across 30 municipal circles. These fair price shops have 16,20,272 food security cards. (NSS)
