Almost 9.76 lakh Students to Appear for Intermediate Exams from March 1

Hyderabad, Feb 26 (Maxim News): Almost 9.76 lakh students in Telangana would take the intermediate examinations to be commenced from March 1 across 1291 centres in the state.

The number of girls including first and second year is about 2.50 lakh and boys are 3.14 lakh whereas 26,170 invigilators would supervise the examinations during a 20 days exercise.

The March 9 examinations are postponed to March 19 following MLC elections in Hyderabad-Rangareddy- Mahaboobnagar centres. Explaining this to the media on Sunday, Board of Intermediate Education secretary G Ashok said that fool proof arrangements have been put in place for the smooth conduct of examinations this time.

He said that hall tickets can be downloaded directly from website www.tsbie.cgg.gov.in from February 26 and students need not to take a signature of the principals. There were several complaints in the past that private college managements pressurize students to clear the dues to hand them over their hall tickets so this time the compulsion of signature is waived, he said.

Mr Ashok said that students would be allowed from 8 am in the morning and would not be allowed after 9 am even if delayed by one minute. He said that 50 flying squads and 200 squads were deployed across the examination centers in Hyderabad.

He said that extra measures were taken to rein in any chance of copying and malpractice during the examination. Xerox machines in the 1 km radius of the examination centres would remain closed during examination, he said.

Out of the 1291 exam centres 783 are private colleges and 323 are model schools and remaining are government colleges. He said that students would be provided with proper infrastructure and examination centres would have to provide proper seating arrangements for the students.

Paramedical staff would be deployed at each examination centre in wake of summer and ORS packets would be kept available in order to give the proper basic treatment to any health issue.

Mobile App for tracking centres
Secretarty BIE Ashok said that a mobile application would be launched on February 27 by the Education Minister Kadiam Srihari that would guide the students to find their examination centres more precisely.

The App would have all the exam hall details with land marks, navigation and other details. Students can download the app and find their examination centres by entering their hall ticket numbers or other details. (Maxim News)
