Hyderabad, Sept 14 (Maxim News): A huge amount of alprazolam was seized in the limits of Gandipet excise station. Cyberabad enforcement officials conducted inspections and seized a total of 1.769 kg of alprazolam. Its value is estimated to be around Rs. 24.18 lakhs. The police also arrested four people who were selling alprazolam. On receiving information that alprazolam was being sold to Medak and Mahabubnagar areas, the Cyberabad enforcement team conducted inspections in the limits of Manchirevula and Gandipet excise stations. Four people were detained in this process.
First, the officers arrested two people who seized 751 grams of alprazolam being transported in a WagonR car. In another case, 1.18 kg of alprazolam was seized from two others who were riding a bike in the same area. In this order, a total of 1.769 kg of alprazolam was seized. In this case, the police arrested Lingaraju Goud, T. Anjaneyulu, R. Ramesh and Katamayya from Medak and Mahabubnagar. A case has also been registered against two others who supplied alprazolam to the accused, Cyberabad Assistant Commissioner G. Srinivasa Reddy said. It was revealed that the alprazolam, vehicles and the accused were handed over to the Gandipet Excise Station. Assistant Commissioner Srinivasa Reddy warned that legal action will be taken even if alprazolam, which is used in the manufacture of toddy, is brought illegally or used to make toddy.
