Hyderabad, July 2: Amazon India has announced an additional investment of ₹2,800 crore to strengthen its fulfilment centres, sorting facilities and last mile delivery network ahead of Prime Day 2026. The three day shopping event will be held from July 4 to July 6 and also marks the 10th anniversary of Prime in India.
Amazon said the latest investment follows last year’s ₹2,000 crore commitment to improve delivery speed and customer experience across the country.
Amazon Prime Day 2026 to feature over 500 launches
Akshay Sahi, Vice President, Prime and Customer Fulfilment Experience for India and Emerging Countries, said the investment would help the company serve customers faster and more efficiently.
He said Prime Day 2026 will feature more than 500 new product launches from Indian and global brands. Products from startups and entrepreneurs under Launchpad, Saheli and Karigar will also be showcased.
Amazon said 70 percent of its new Prime members now come from Tier 2 and Tier 3 cities, reflecting growing adoption beyond metropolitan markets.
The company plans to open 20 new fulfilment centres and continue investing in delivery associate safety. It also expects Prime membership to double compared to 2023, supported by its tiered membership plans.
Amazon said nearly 20 percent of customers who subscribe to Prime Shopping Edition or Prime Lite upgrade to the full Prime membership within a year.
For Prime Day, customers can expect discounts of up to 40 percent on selected smartphones, including the Samsung Galaxy S25 Ultra, Apple’s latest iPhone models, OnePlus and iQOO devices.
The company also confirmed that its quick commerce platform, Amazon Now, will expand to more than 300 cities. It plans to establish over 1,000 micro fulfilment centres and 100 urban fulfilment centres to support faster deliveries.
To celebrate Prime’s 10th anniversary, Amazon has introduced a special introductory annual Prime membership at ₹999 for new subscribers, compared to the regular ₹1,499 fee.
Amazon said it will continue using technology to detect counterfeit products and remove suspicious listings while ensuring a trusted shopping experience through strict seller policies and customer friendly return processes.
